Grants are provided to conduct lead abatement on friction surfaces and lead remediation on non-friction surfaces
Participants must maintain property in good condition, and repayment may be required if property owners sell home after work is completed
Property owners of buildings built prior to 1980 and where there are two or more units (multi-family dwelling) with identified lead hazards
Properties inspected through NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) CLPPP (Childhood Lead Prevention Program) or CLPPP+ where elevated blood lead levels have been detected in children or pregnant people
Properties must be located in the following zip codes: 13901 & 13905

Temporary Relocation Assistance: During lead hazard remediation, tenants may need to be temporarily relocated to ensure their safety. The NYS HCR Leading Lead Program provides support for:
Safe Housing: Arranging temporary housing for tenants in lead-safe environments while their units are being remediated
Financial Assistance: May cover relocation costs, including moving expenses and temporary accommodation fees, depending on the circumstance of the remediation efforts
Communication: Keeping tenants informed about the remediation process and expected timelines to minimize disruption
