The goal of our HUD Counseling Programs is to help individuals and families become financially sound to become self-sufficient. HUD counseling services provide information on how to handle life’s unforeseen situations, how individuals and families can live in residences that are safe and affordable, become homeowners, and become active members in their community.
What is it?
Greater Opportunities formerly known as Opportunities for Chenango, Inc. has been a Certified HUD Counseling Agency since 1992. The purpose is to educate individuals of all income levels regarding an array of living circumstances so they can experience the most comfortable, affordable, and enjoyable living circumstances in our community.
Our goal is to help individuals and families move on from homelessness into a position of safe, affordable, and stable quality housing. Our team offers specific counseling in areas that our clients desire and qualify for, so they can achieve independence in the housing placement of their choosing.
Who is it for?
Individuals from all income levels seeking to learn about the best practices for an array living situations including homeowners, renters, first-time homebuyers, or individuals who struggling to pay for housing.
