Job Title: Maintenance Specialist

Department: Maintenance

Summary; Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.

Cuts grass and trims weeds on the organization's property.

Operates snow removal equipment to maintain parking lots and sidewalks ie. snow plow, snow blower, and shovel.

Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.

Repairs or replaces building brick, stone, and concrete.

Maintains and repairs wood parts of buildings.

Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in the field.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have some knowledge of how to use a computer to punch in in their time sheet and process job orders.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current Driver's license.

Other Skills and Abilities

Employee must have a strong background in one or more of these areas: Electrical, Heating, Plumbing, Painting inside and out. The employee must also have experience in general building maintenance such as lawn mowing, weed eating, shoveling, and snow plowing would be preferred. Employee must have the ability to work an on-call rotation schedule with the rest of the maintenance team.

The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to moderate.
